We recently partnered with the team at London Marathon Events to create the official 2025 TCS London Marathon finisher medal reveal film. Unveiling the medal is always a big moment, and for the 45th edition, they wanted to go bigger than ever before.
Conceived, produced and delivered entirely in-house, the film blends live action, 3D animation, compositing and sound design to drape a giant medal over Tower Bridge, one of the marathon’s most iconic landmarks.
Production kicked off in mid-winter, when we painstakingly recreated the medal in 3D. We were sworn to secrecy and given an early sample to work from – the closest we’ll both ever come to a marathon winners medal! You can see a little glimpse behind the scenes of our process for this below:
The film premiered across TCS London Marathon’s social channels, before featuring at The Running Show, the marathon’s start area, and a 45th anniversary takeover of the Outernet on Tottenham Court Road. Now, we’re both massive fans of the Outernet so we absolutely had to go and take a look, and you can see a quick video of the event below. The response to the campaign was overwhelmingly positive, gaining millions of views, likes and comments and even earning shout-outs from the Boston and Berlin Marathons.
