When the Kia Academy team asked us to create a product discovery film for the all-electric EV3, we faced a unique challenge: at the time of production, the car was still under embargo and couldn’t leave Kia’s UK HQ.

Our solution was to lean into the restriction, combining live action and 3D animation to deconstruct the EV3 and showcase its story, features and design. We even built a full-scale AR version of the car to pre-plan camera moves and lighting setups on-site.

After a successful shoot, the final hurdle was blending the live-action and CGI into one seamless edit – assembled and delivered with expert guidance from Motiv8.

This is a short extract from the full version, currently screening on the Kia Academy and shown at the 2025 Kia Masterclass at Silverstone and Kia Dealer Conference in Liverpool.
