Since their doors opened in 2014, Escapology has become the world’s largest and fastest-growing escape-game franchise, with venues in key markets like Orlando and Las Vegas.

During our time at mobedia, both Adam and Gary worked closely with the Escapology team across a wide variety of projects that are still being used globally today – almost a decade on from our first game assets. From Wild West adventures and cursed temples, to high-stakes submarines and Scottish castles, every game gave us the chance to have fun with creative world-building and get players ready for the 60-minute experience that followed.

We also built all the in-game countdowns, designing them to match each room’s theme so they felt part of the immersion rather than just an add-on.

In 2019, we stepped further into the narrative and built a cinema advert timed with the Hollywood premiere of the film ‘Escape Room’. This highly localised spot ran across U.S. cinemas and was personalised for each Escapology venue.

We also created in-game assets to further immerse players. In one Orient Express-themed room, a pair of built-in screens played an hour-long snow-capped journey through the Alps, complete with a few unexpected surprises. You can see a sample of this below, but you’ll have to visit an Escapology venue to see the rest in action.
